The roleOur client is looking to recruit an Assistant Financial Controller role supporting the Financial Controller across a number of high-volume manufacturing business units with around £100m turnover. The position combines strong technical accounting and reporting with people leadership, providing robust financial control, insight, and support across month-end, forecasting, audit, and compliance, while acting as a deputy to the Financial Controller.Key responsibilitiesLead the month-end close, including accruals, variance analysis, and forecast vs actual reportingManage the forecasts ad budgets process.Balance sheet reviews across two sitesLine management and development of 3 finance team members, ensuring delivery to deadlines and high standardsEnsure accuracy and integrity of corporate and internal reporting to agreed timetablesPreparation and upload of TB and statistical data into HFMFull ownership of balance sheet reconciliations to SOX standardsFixed asset and Capex trackingYear-end audit pack preparation and liaison with external auditorsWeekly cashflow forecasting and variance analysisSupport standard costing, price variance analysis, and purchasing savings reportingStock counts, and continuous process improvementProvide cover for the Financial Controller when requiredAbout youQualified or finalist CIMA / ACCA / ACAStrong month-end, reporting, and forecasting experienceProven people management experienceManufacturing experience essential or from a fast paced industryAdvanced Excel skillsConfident, organised, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced operational environmentOn offer to you£55,000 - £65,000Hybrid working Succession plan
