Functional Skills Teacher (Maths and/or English Specialist) South Northamptonshire Permanent Position Recruited via Tradewind RecruitmentA new and exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and dedicated Functional Skills Teacher to join a brand-new Alternative Provision site opening in South Northamptonshire. This is a permanent position, offering the chance to play a key role in shaping provision from the ground up and making a genuine difference to young people who require a more tailored educational setting.We are seeking a specialist in Maths and/or English with experience delivering Functional Skills qualifications. The successful candidate will be confident teaching Entry Level through to Level 2, planning engaging and accessible lessons that support learners with a range of additional needs, including SEMH, SEND or disrupted educational backgrounds.This role is ideal for a teacher who thrives in a smaller, supportive environment and understands the importance of relationship-building, consistency and inclusive practice. You will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality lessons, assessing learner progress, preparing students for examinations, and embedding employability and life skills within your teaching.The new site will focus on structured, supportive education designed to re-engage learners and prepare them for further education, apprenticeships or employment. You will work collaboratively with pastoral staff and senior leaders to ensure safeguarding, behaviour support and positive outcomes remain central to the provision.The ideal candidate will have:Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualificationExperience delivering Functional Skills Maths and/or EnglishStrong behaviour management skillsA good understanding of safeguarding and inclusive educationA commitment to raising attainment and supporting vulnerable learnersIn return, you will have the opportunity to contribute to a new and developing provision, with strong leadership support and a clear vision for learner success.To apply or find out more, please contact Tradewind Recruitment.#INDNOR
