This is an exciting opportunity for a technically minded professional who enjoys translating engineering concepts into practical, manufacturable solutions.This Design Engineer role sits within a collaborative drawing office environment where you will work closely with sales, production and suppliers. The successful Design Engineer will contribute to product development, manufacturing support and continuous improvement across engineering design activities.The Opportunity:As a Design Engineer you’ll play a key role in: Supporting internal sales teams by providing technical guidance and responding to engineering queriesProducing approval drawings and detailed designs to support manufacturing and customer requirementsCollaborating with shopfloor teams to resolve design and manufacturing queriesCreating and issuing Bills of Materials to support efficient production processesWorking with suppliers and customers to ensure designs are suitable for manufacture and installationYour work will directly contribute to the successful delivery of engineered products that meet customer specifications, manufacturing standards and project deadlines. About You:We’re looking for someone who can bring: A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, Engineering Design or a similar disciplineStrong experience using SolidWorks 3D for product design and technical drawingsExperience working with sheet metal design and fabrication processesExcellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple drawing deadlinesStrong organisational and communication skills when working with production teams and suppliersExperience with AutoCAD, design calculations or technical file preparation for specification standards would be advantageous The Benefits and Package:In return, you’ll enjoy: Salary Range £38,000 to £40,00025 days holiday plus bank holidaysNest pension schemeMonday to Friday working hours with an early finish on FridaysA supportive and collaborative engineering environment that values technical expertise and continuous improvement How to Apply:This exciting Design Engineer opportunity is being managed by Consortium Professional Recruitment, a trusted recruitment partner.
