Their team is trusted by blue‑chip clients, public bodies, and private developers to provide innovative cost, project and commercial management solutions across sectors including:Commercial officesEducation and researchAdvanced manufacturingHealthcare & life sciencesResidential, BTR & student accommodationMajor regeneration and infrastructureCultural and heritage conservationTheir continued success has created an exciting opportunity for an ambitious Quantity Surveyor to become part of their growing Scottish operation.Your new role As a Quantity Surveyor, you’ll join a collaborative and high‑performing cost management team, taking responsibility for delivering end‑to‑end commercial support across a varied portfolio of projects.Your work will include a blend of:Cost & Commercial ManagementPreparing cost plans and feasibility studies at early design stagesManaging procurement strategies, tender processes and contractor negotiationsProducing BOQs, tender documentation, and cost reportsForecasting budgets, cashflow and commercial riskSupporting value engineering and strategic decision‑makingManaging change control, variations and valuationsAssisting with contract administration under NEC and JCT formsClient & Project EngagementActing as a consistent, trusted point of contact for clientsAttending design team and progress meetingsBuilding strong relationships across consultant, contractor and stakeholder teamsSupporting senior colleagues on major, complex schemesHelping to drive innovation, sustainability and best practice within project deliveryYou will see projects from inception through completion, gaining wide exposure and the autonomy to shape workstreams, influence decisions and further develop your technical expertise.The Type of Projects You’ll Be Involved InThe kinds of projects you’ll work on include:Large, modern Grade A office buildings for global occupiersRegeneration of major urban districts into vibrant mixed‑use communitiesTransformation of heritage assets into cultural and public‑facing spacesDelivery of cutting‑edge research, innovation and life‑science facilitiesComplex infrastructure and public realm schemesSustainable, next‑generation residential and student living developmentsMajor civic investment projects in partnership with public‑sector bodiesThese schemes often involve pioneering sustainability initiatives, advanced building technologies, and multi‑phase development strategies – offering you excellent professional growth.What you'll need to succeed To thrive in this role, you should bring:Experience as a Quantity Surveyor within consultancy or a client‑side environmentStrong understanding of construction costs, commercial management and procurementAbility to manage multiple workstreams and prioritise effectivelyExcellent communication and stakeholder‑management skillsConfidence working in client‑facing situationsDegree in Quantity Surveying or a related disciplineMRICS chartership (or actively working toward it) is beneficial but not essential.A proactive, solutions‑focused attitude and a genuine interest in delivering high‑quality workWhat you'll get in return This consultancy is committed to developing people and supporting long‑term career progression.
