Cumberland Council is seeking an exceptional Registered Manager to provide inspirational leadership across two new children’s residential homes, supporting up to six children and young people. This is a unique opportunity to shape high‑quality practice and drive positive outcomes for some of our most vulnerable children.

You will play a central part in Cumberland Council’s Children’s Homes Service, working alongside a passionate, multi‑disciplinary team dedicated to helping young people and families overcome challenges linked to trauma, attachment, social exclusion, and emotional health.

What you’ll do
As the Registered Manager, you will:
Provide strong, confident leadership across two homes, ensuring a warm, nurturing, and therapeutic environment.
Deliver the home’s Statement of Purpose with integrity and ambition.
Champion each child’s voice, rights, and lived experience, ensuring they influence all aspects of their care and planning.
Lead, motivate, and empower your team to provide exceptional child‑centred care.
Be skilled in de-escalation and crisis intervention techniques and will be qualified in Team Teach or equivalent strategies.
Build positive relationships with families, partners, and professionals to create consistent and meaningful support for young people.
Maintain compliance with Ofsted requirements for Children’s Homes Regulations / Quality Standards, as well as driving continuous improvement across both services.

Enhanced DBS check with a Children’s Barred List check.
Please note this role involves working in regulated activity with Children. It is an offence for people who are barred from working in regulated activity to apply for roles that require them to work unsupervised with Children.
