This opportunity is with a well-established regional accountancy practice operating across multiple offices in West Yorkshire. The firm supports a diverse portfolio of owner-managed businesses, sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies, providing a full range of accounting, tax, and advisory services. The Accountant will play a key role in managing a varied client portfolio and supporting the delivery of high-quality accounting and tax services. Role Overview- Accountant Preparation of statutory accounts and tax computations for sole traders, partnerships, and small limited companies for manager or partner reviewPreparation of corporation tax and personal tax returnsProducing quarterly management accounts and reporting findings to senior staffReviewing work completed by junior team members where requiredPreparing and reviewing VAT returns and client bookkeeping recordsSupporting clients with cloud accounting systems, including quarterly reviews of their accounting softwareProviding training and troubleshooting support for clients using cloud accounting platforms such as XeroVisiting client premises when required to assist with bookkeeping, management information preparation, or remedial workManaging day-to-day client queries and building strong client relationships Role Requirements- Accountant Minimum 3 years' experience within an accountancy practiceQualified or part-qualified AAT / ACCAExperience preparing accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companiesGood understanding of VAT returns, corporation tax, and personal taxExperience with cloud accounting software (Xero preferred)Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple client deadlinesConfident communicator with the ability to build client relationshipsAbility to review and support junior team members Salary & Benefits - Accountant Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 depending on experience and qualificationsCompany pension schemePrivate medical insuranceCycle to work schemeSick payFree on-site parkingFlexible working arrangements following induction, including hybrid / work-from-home options Bennett and Game Recruitment are a multi-disciplined technical recruitment agency based in Chichester, West Sussex operating across the UK with specialist teams covering a range of industries.We are acting as a Recruitment Agency in relation to this vacancy, and in accordance with GDPR by applying you are granting us consent to process your data, contact you about the services we offer, and submit your CV for the role you have applied for.
