Senior Food Safety ManagerCentral London (Hybrid role, with regular international travel)£55 000 to £65 000Looking to step into a highly visible food safety leadership role within a growing, international business? This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced technical professional to play a key role in safeguarding product quality, integrity, and compliance across a complex supply chain.The Role Reporting into the Technical Controller, you’ll be responsible for ensuring food safety, quality, legality, and authenticity standards are upheld across the business and its supplier network. You will play a central role in embedding a strong food safety culture, while ensuring systems, audits, and processes are executed consistently and to the highest standard.Key responsibilities include:Coordinating and conducting food safety audits against company standards, working closely with suppliers to drive complianceSupporting the maintenance and continuous improvement of the food safety & quality management system, ensuring AA Grade BRC A&B certificationDeveloping and owning the food safety and authenticity surveillance program, identifying and mitigating riskSupporting category teams with out-of-specification results, including root cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventative actionsContributing to incident management, including reactive supplier visits and technical improvement planningLeading strategic technical workstreams to enhance product safety, quality, and regulatory complianceDriving awareness and continuous improvement of food safety culture across internal teams and the wider supply baseDoes this describe youDegree-qualified in Food Science or a related disciplineAt least 8 years’ experience in food safety, auditing, or technical rolesStrong internal and external audit experience, with a deep understanding of GFSI standardsExcellent knowledge of food safety, microbiology, and regulatory requirementsExperience working across multiple food categories and international supply chainsWillingness to travel internationally on a regular basisStrong attention to detail, balanced with a strategic mindsetExcellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence suppliers and internal teamsWhy should you apply?Opportunity to join a growing business and shape the next phase of its technical capabilityHybrid working with flexibility and opportunity to work abroadA high-impact role with responsibility across a global supplier baseStrong investment in training and professional developmentIf you are passionate about raising standards, driving compliance, and making a tangible impact on product safety and quality, this role offers an excellent platform to do so.
