About the Role

ACWA Power is seeking a qualified and detail-oriented Mechanical Inspector to join its QA/QC team in Uzbekistan. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting and monitoring mechanical works to ensure compliance with approved drawings, international standards, project specifications, and quality requirements. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the integrity, safety, and efficiency of mechanical installations across project sites.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections of mechanical installations including piping systems, tanks, HVAC, pumps, valves, and rotating/static equipment.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, IFC drawings, and international standards such as ASME and API.
• Inspect welding activities, verify material traceability, and monitor pre- and post-weld processes.
• Monitor daily site activities to ensure adherence to approved method statements and procedures.
• Prepare inspection reports and maintain quality documentation, checklists, and ITPs.
• Identify non-conformities, issue NCRs, and follow up on corrective actions.
• Witness pressure tests, valve testing, and equipment alignment activities.
• Support QA/QC Engineers during inspections, testing, and project completion phases.
• Coordinate with EPC contractors, subcontractors, commissioning teams, and HSSE personnel.
• Participate in punch list preparation and closure prior to mechanical completion and handover.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations on-site.

Qualifications and Experience

Education:

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
• Professional certifications such as CSWIP, API, or equivalent are preferred.

Experience:

• Minimum 4–6 years of experience in mechanical inspection roles within construction, energy, or infrastructure projects.
• Familiarity with piping systems, mechanical equipment, and welding activities.

Required Skills and Knowledge

• Strong knowledge of ASME, API, and international mechanical standards.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, P& IDs, and technical specifications.
• Understanding of inspection tools, NDT methods, and pressure testing procedures.
• Experience with QA/QC documentation, ITPs, and inspection methodologies.
• Strong analytical, reporting, and documentation skills.
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.
• Good command of English Uzbek and/or Russian is an advantage.
