Requirements:

• Degree in law or equivalent or higher qualifications
• Deep understanding of the oil and gas regulatory environment in Kazakhstan including the Sub Soil User Code, Gas Law and tax laws related to oil and gas production in Kazakhstan
• Minimum 5 years experience working for an oil and gas operating company either in Kazakhstan or internationally as a senior legal advisor
• Self-driven, energetic team player
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with strong persuasive abilities.
• Management skills

Responsibilities:

• Advising the company on the management of legal risks associated with revenue generating contracts, corporate services, governance, dispute management, new businesses and general advisory matters
• Drafting, reviewing and negotiating documents
• Leading negotiations to protect business interests
• Developing and reviewing legal frameworks
• Acting as the team lead in assigned legal work, driving execution for approved action plans
• Collaborating externally with legal firms, and driving creative legal dispute management solutions
• Advise and lead commercial and legal negotiations on hydrocarbon sales agreements for both oil and gas
• Ensure complete regulatory and legal compliance of the oil and gas operating company with both state and local authorities, as well as, any other stakeholders
• Work with Shareholder legal counsel on corporate transactions
• Managing and supervising Senior Law
