Job Opportunity: Teaching Assistant at SEMH Boys School in Eastbourne About the school:Join our dynamic team at an SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) school in Eastbourne, dedicated to providing a supportive and enriching learning environment for students from Key Stage 2 to Key Stage 4 with special educational needs. This school also caters to students who are at risk of perminant exclusion so the ideal person would be compassionate, resiliant and patient.Position: Teaching Assistant (full time)Hours:- Monday to Friday 8:30-15:15Responsibilities:As a Teaching Assistant / support assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the educational and emotional development of students with social, emotional, and mental health needs across Key Stage 2 to Key Stage 4. Your responsibilities will include assisting teachers in the classroom, provisioning one-to-one support, and crating a positive and inclusive atmosphere for the students.What its like to work with SEMH students:Working with boys who have social, emotional an mental health needs is a rewarding and impactful experience. It requires individuals who are empathetic, patient and committed to making a positive difference in the lives of these students. You will have the opportunity to develop strong relationships with the students, helping them build confidence, resilience, and a love for learning.Ideal candidate:We are looking for individuals with the right personality and mindset to thrive in a challenging yet fulfilling environment. While experience is desirable, we believe that the right person can make a significant impact with the following qualities:- Resilience: the ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt to the varying needs of the students.- Empathy: A genuine understanding and compassion for the challenges faced by students with special educational needs.- Patience: The capacity to support students at their own pace, fostering a positive and nurturing learning environment.- Adaptability: Flexibility to adjust teaching strategies to meet the unique needs of individual students.- Team Player: collaborative attitude and effective communication skills to work closely with fellow staff members.Salary:£11.80-£14.80 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role.
