We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Hackney to assist with the appointment of a Health and Safety Adviser, on a 12-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.Rate of Pay: £22.36 - £28.55 per hourResponsibilities:Conduct investigations of accidents and incidents, producing reports asrequired, and making practical, cost-effective recommendations asappropriate and ensure that actions are taken as necessary to protectthe Councils employees, reputation and assets.In conjunction with Organisational and Employee Development team,assist with the development of training plans to ensure that mangersand employees have the appropriate knowledge, understanding andskills to effectively manage the health and safety risks they areresponsible for.Provide managers with support, advice and assistance in thepreparation and implementation of health and safety risk assessmentsand provide a risk assessment quality assurance function.Contribute to the Councils monitoring of its health and safetyperformance in order to identify trends and inadequately controlledrisks.Contribute to the development and implementation of buildingemergency plans and procedures.Undertake health and safety inspections and site-visits of Councilbuildings and services and producing recommendations and remedialaction plans.Qualification:Minimum requirement is the NEBOSH General Certificate UK or otherappropriate equivalent qualification. Ideally, post-holders should beworking towards, or willing to work towards the NEBOSH Diploma andMembership of IOSH.Experience of advising managers on health and safety operational andpolicy issues and contributing to organisational benefits.Commitment to a programme of continuing professional development.Experience of using information technology, including Microsoft Office,Excel and Word to produce reports and management information.Please note:You should be available to work immediately or at a short notice.You should have right to work in U.KDisclaimer: Brackenberry Ltd is acting as an Employment Business in relation to this vacancy.
