The Role – Graduate SEN Teaching AssistantAs a Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital part in helping students with diverse learning needs thrive in a mainstream classroom environment. Your key responsibilities will include:
Supporting pupils 1:1 and in small groups under the guidance of the SEN teamAssisting in the delivery of personalised learning and behaviour support plansHelping students with communication, literacy, and sensory regulation strategiesMonitoring progress and adapting support strategies based on individual needsEncouraging inclusive participation and building positive relationships with studentsCollaborating with teaching staff and external specialists to provide holistic support

A 2:1 or above in Psychology, Education, Social Sciences, or a related degreeA strong interest in SEN and inclusive educationExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsThe ability to remain calm, patient, and supportive in a busy school environmentExperience in mentoring, tutoring, volunteering, or youth work (desirable but not essential)
