Teaching Personnel are recruiting on behalf of an SEMH provision seeking a skilled and compassionate Youth Worker to join their team as a Teaching Assistant from September.This is a fantastic opportunity for a Youth Worker looking to use their skills supporting young people with social, emotional, and mental health needs (SEMH) in an educational setting.About the Role: You will support young people with SEMH needs by providing behaviour intervention, emotional support, and helping them engage with learning. Working alongside teachers and support staff, you’ll contribute to a positive, nurturing environment that encourages growth and resilience.Key Responsibilities:
Provide one-to-one and group support to students with SEMH needs
Assist in implementing behaviour and learning support plans
Use your experience in youth work to build positive relationships and support emotional wellbeing
Promote positive behaviour and social skills development
Collaborate with teachers, SENCO, and external agencies to support student progress
Monitor and record behavioural and emotional developments
Who We’re Looking For:
Experience working as a Youth Worker or in a similar role supporting young people
Understanding of SEMH needs and behaviour management strategies
Excellent communication, patience, and empathy
Ability to work effectively in a team and remain calm in challenging situations
Relevant qualifications or training in youth work, behaviour support, or education (desirable but not essential)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
