We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in London Borough of Islington to assist with the appointment of a Tutor on a 2.5-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Rate of Pay: £19.59- £26.23 per hour Hours Per Week: 15 Summary: The London Borough of Islington is seeking two outstanding, enthusiastic, and experienced Tutors one specialising in English and one in Maths to join the innovative Trailblazer Project. The project supports young people aged 1625 to develop essential literacy and numeracy skills, helping them progress into further education, training, or employment. The successful candidates will plan and deliver engaging, high-quality teaching sessions both one-to-one and in small groups, tailored to meet the diverse learning needs of young people, including those who may have experienced barriers to learning. Responsibilities: Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons in English or Maths that meet the needs of young people aged 1625.Ensure lessons align with national curriculum standards and the Trailblazer Projects objectives.Identify individual learning needs and implement appropriate strategies to overcome barriers to learning.Support learners in developing employability, communication, and life skills alongside their academic progress.Maintain accurate records of attendance, achievement, and progression in line with funding and audit requirements.Comply with safeguarding, equality, health and safety, and data protection policies at all times.Liaise with parents, carers, and partner organisations to celebrate progress and address barriers to success.Represent the project at meetings, events, and forums as required. Essentials: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), PGCE, or DTLLS equivalent teaching qualification.Subject Specialist qualification in Literacy (English) or Numeracy (Maths).Proven experience teaching young people aged 1625, ideally in alternative education, further education, or youth engagement settings.Experience of delivering accredited or non-accredited learning programmes, both in groups and on a one-to-one basis.Understanding of safeguarding, equality and diversity, and inclusive education practices.
