Pay - Competitive hourly payLocation - Chard Contract type: Temporary (Christmas Period Cover) CNC Recruitment are looking for compassionate, reliable temporary Care Workers to join our Client over the busy Christmas period. You’ll be supporting adults with autism and/or learning disabilities, helping them enjoy a safe, happy, and meaningful festive season while maintaining the high standard the care home is known for.Whether you have previous care experience or are looking to gain new skills in a rewarding environment, we’d love to hear from you.Main Purpose of the RoleTo provide flexible, person-centred care and support to residents within a residential care home setting , promoting dignity, independence, and wellbeing through the festive season. Key Responsibilities Support & Personal CareProvide day-to-day care and emotional support to residents.Assist with personal care needs including washing, dressing, and mobility.Encourage residents to participate in festive activities and routines.Maintain confidentiality and safeguard residents at all times. Daily Living & ActivitiesSupport residents with daily living tasks such as eating, drinking, and maintaining personal hygiene.Encourage participation in Christmas events, crafts, and social activities within the home.Promote dignity, equality, and inclusion in all interactions. Sleep-in & Shift DutiesCarry out sleep-in shifts (22:00 – 08:30) when required to ensure continuous care and safety overnight.Remain available to respond to any incidents or emergencies during the night.Environment & SafetyHelp maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment in line with infection control and health & safety standards.Report any concerns or hazards immediately to the Home Manager.Teamwork & CommunicationWork collaboratively with the care team to provide a consistent, supportive environment.Keep accurate daily notes and communicate clearly with colleagues at shift handovers.Uphold the values and standards of the Care Home at all times.RequirementsPerson SpecificationEssential:A caring, patient, and positive attitude.Reliable and flexible – able to work during the festive period.Good communication and teamwork skills.Willingness to attend brief training or induction prior to starting.Desirable:Previous experience working in a care, support, or healthcare setting.NVQ Level 2/3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent).Knowledge of autism and learning disabilities.· DBS Check is advantageous, but can be provided BenefitsINDBLUE
