The Role:You’ll play a key part in helping classroom teachers provide exceptional support to students across Primary and Secondary ages. The students at this school have primary diagnoses / additional needs of the following:
Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) difficultiesTrauma and Attachment DifficultiesAutism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)Complex Backgrounds
This role involves working closely with students who may experience anxiety, low self-esteem, trauma, or other mental health challenges that impact their ability to learn.You will help create a safe, supportive environment where students feel understood and valued, using strategies to promote emotional regulation, positive coping skills, and confidence.Collaborating with teachers, pastoral teams, and external professionals, you will play a vital role in ensuring every child has the tools and encouragement to thrive both academically and personally. SEMH knowledge and experienceUnderstanding of Trauma-Informed CareUnderstanding of positive behaviour support strategiesExcellent communication skillsAble to collaborate with teachers and other support staff
