This role leads a unique, immersive museum and living exhibition set within a restored historic home. Visitors are invited to engage thoughtfully with history through storytelling, interpretation, and interactive experiences.Our client is seeking a confident, guest-focused Attractions Manager with a strong background in museum, heritage, or visitor attraction management. The ideal candidate combines a solid understanding of South African history with creativity, operational excellence, and an interest in using innovative approaches to bring history to life.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee the daily operation of the visitor attraction and museum spacesLead, train, and support the Welcome and Host teamEnsure a consistently high-quality, educational, and immersive visitor experienceManage existing interactive exhibits and support the development of new contentPlan and deliver workshops, tours, events, and curated visitor experiencesEngage visitors through storytelling and guided interpretationCollaborate with marketing to promote the site’s cultural and historical valueDrive visitor growth and revenue while maintaining historical integrityRequirementsBachelor’s degree in general arts (history, museum studies, or heritage-related fields preferred)Proven experience managing a museum, heritage site, or high-quality visitor attractionStrong knowledge of South African history, particularly the Anglo-Boer WarExperience leading and motivating a small teamExcellent communication, storytelling, and interpersonal skillsHigh attention to detail and strong organisational abilityProficient in Microsoft Office; comfortable learning new systemsCreative approach to educational programmes, workshops, and visitor engagementFluent in English and AfrikaansValid driver’s licenceFlexible and comfortable working weekends and in a dynamic environmentWorking hours: 40 hours per week, Tuesday to Sunday (including weekends)Location: On-site, UK-based heritage attractionBenefits30 days’ annual leaveFree daily meals while on dutyGarden membership for you and your familyStaff discounts across shops, restaurants, and accommodationPension contributionFree on-site parking
