Following significant growth and investment, they are building out a new Engineering Productivity function focused on accelerating delivery while embedding quality across their platforms.This is a high-impact leadership role for an experienced QA professional who wants to shape how quality is approached across teams, processes and technology, rather than sitting solely at feature level.Role OverviewThis is an excellent opportunity for a QA Manager or QA Lead to take ownership of quality strategy within a modern, engineering-led environment. You will be responsible for defining testing standards, guiding QA practices, and working closely with Engineering, DevOps and Product teams to ensure quality is built in from the outset.While this is not a purely hands-on testing role, a strong technical background is essential. You will lead by example, influence engineering practices, and help teams scale safely and sustainably.Key ResponsibilitiesDefine and own the overall QA and testing strategy across multiple systems and teamsLead, mentor and support QA engineers, fostering a strong quality cultureEstablish and maintain test processes, standards and best practices aligned with Agile deliveryOversee functional and non-functional testing, including regression, integration and performanceCollaborate with Engineering and DevOps to strengthen CI/CD pipelines and test automationInfluence architectural and delivery decisions to improve quality, reliability and scalabilityChampion a proactive, prevention-focused approach to quality across the SDLCEssential Skills & ExperienceProven experience in a QA Lead or QA Manager role within a software engineering environmentStrong background in test engineering, ideally within Java-based systemsDeep understanding of QA methodologies, automation strategies and BDD/TDD practicesExperience testing APIs, web applications and backend servicesComfortable working closely with engineers, product managers and senior stakeholdersStrong communication skills with the ability to influence and drive changeDesirable SkillsExperience working in fintech or other highly regulated environmentsExposure to performance and reliability testing tools such as JMeter or K6Familiarity with CI/CD tooling, Linux environments and cloud-based systemsPrevious involvement in scaling QA practices within growing teamsWhy Apply?Competitive salary up to £100k plus bonusFully remote workingOpportunity to shape QA strategy within a growing fintech scale-upHigh trust environment with real ownership and influenceStrong focus on engineering excellence and professional growthFor more information on this opportunity, connect with Neill Ferguson on LinkedIn or submit your CV via the link below.
