You’ll play a key role in shaping finance operations as the business continues its transition into a new group structure, with real scope to influence processes, systems, and performance.Assistant Financial Controller Role OverviewAs Financial Controller, you’ll take ownership of day-to-day finance operations while acting as a trusted business partner to senior stakeholders. You’ll lead month-end and statutory reporting, oversee cash management, and drive continuous improvement across the finance function, including the implementation of Sage 200.Key responsibilities include:Owning monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting in line with UK GAAP / IFRSManaging the month-end and year-end close, ensuring accuracy, control, and clear variance analysisStrengthening financial controls, governance, and compliance frameworksLeading budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and performance analysisActing as a finance partner to Sales, Operations, and Supply Chain on margins, pricing, and KPIsOverseeing AP, AR, treasury, payroll interfaces, balance sheet integrity, and stock accountingSupporting VAT compliance and liaising with HMRCLeading internal and external audits and managing auditor relationshipsDriving systems improvements, including Sage 200 implementation and BI reportingDeveloping and mentoring the finance team, creating a positive, high-performance cultureAssistant Financial Controller Qualification, experience and skills:You’ll be a qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) with strong technical foundations and a practical, solutions-focused mindset.
