Tax Manager Carlisle Up to £55,000 Butler Rose are pleased to be recruiting for a well-established, multi-office accountancy practice for a Tax Manager role based in Carlisle. This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected firm with a strong presence across Cumbria, supporting a varied client base of owner-managed businesses, family-run companies and private individuals. As Tax Manager, you will take ownership of a broad portfolio, overseeing compliance whilst also delivering well-rounded tax advice across Income Tax, Capital Gains Tax and Inheritance Tax. You will play an important role within the senior management team, contributing to the firm's ongoing growth plans and mentoring junior members of the tax team. Duties Manage a portfolio of personal tax and mixed tax clients, ensuring an efficient and proactive serviceDevelop and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a key point of contactProvide advice on tax compliance and identify planning opportunitiesPrepare and review personal, partnership and Capital Gains Tax returnsComplete detailed tax computations and review clients' overall tax positionsEnsure accurate and timely submission of all returnsHandle HMRC correspondence and enquiries as requiredAdvise on matters including business restructuring, CGT and IHT planning, share schemes and property taxationSupport partners and senior leadership with more complex advisory assignments What we're looking for Ideally 7+ years' experience within a UK accountancy practice environmentACA, ACCA or CTA qualified (or qualified by experience)Experience managing a varied portfolio of clients independentlyFull UK driving licence, with willingness to travel to client sites or other offices when requiredConfident communicator, able to explain complex tax matters in a clear and practical wayHighly organised, detail-oriented and able to manage competing deadlinesCommercially minded with a client-focused approach Benefits 25 days holiday plus bank holidaysJoining an award-winning, people-focused firm with a strong commitment to professional development.Flexible working optionsA supportive and collaborative work environment.Competitive salary and benefits package.Career progression opportunities in a dynamic, growing practice.
