AWS Platform EngineerSalary: £75,000 – £90,000Location: London (Hybrid)The OpportunityWe’re partnering with a well-established organisation operating at the centre of a major UK financial technology ecosystem. Their platform supports collaboration between financial institutions, technology providers, and regulators, enabling secure data exchange and the development of innovative digital financial services.As the platform continues to evolve, they are looking to bring in an AWS Platform Engineer to help design, build, and maintain the secure cloud infrastructure that underpins critical services used across the industry.The RoleAs a Platform Engineer, you will play a key role in building and maintaining a secure, highly available cloud platform. You will work closely with architecture, security, and engineering teams to automate infrastructure, improve reliability, and ensure the platform meets stringent security and regulatory requirements.This role provides the opportunity to work on complex infrastructure challenges within a highly collaborative engineering environment.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and maintain secure, scalable cloud infrastructureAutomate infrastructure deployment using Infrastructure-as-Code toolsBuild and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support engineering teamsMonitor system performance and troubleshoot platform issuesImplement and maintain strong security practices across the infrastructureWork closely with architects and developers to align infrastructure with system designProduce and maintain documentation including runbooks and architecture diagramsContinuously improve platform performance, reliability, and operational processesTechnology EnvironmentAWSTerraformCI/CD tooling (e.g. Jenkins, CircleCI, GitHub)Docker and Kubernetes / container orchestrationServerless infrastructureSecurity tooling such as WAF, IDS/IPS, and SIEM platformsExperience RequiredStrong experience designing and managing cloud infrastructure environmentsHands-on experience with AWSExperience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as TerraformExperience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelinesFamiliarity with container technologies such as Docker and KubernetesGood understanding of cloud security best practicesExperience working in Agile development environmentsDesirable ExperienceExperience working in regulated environments such as financial services, fintech, or similar sectorsExposure to large-scale or industry-wide technology platformsProgramming or scripting experience (e.g. Python)Why Join?Opportunity to work on a large-scale platform used across a major UK technology ecosystemCollaborative engineering culture with strong technical leadershipExposure to modern cloud and platform technologiesCompetitive salary and benefits packageIf you’re a platform or DevOps engineer who enjoys building secure, scalable cloud infrastructure in a complex technical environment, we’d love to hear from you – please apply with a copy of your CV ASAP.
