This is an exciting opportunity to deliver maths in a way that builds confidence, curiosity, and real-world skills for students with special educational needs.At Baston House, maths is more than numbers—it’s about helping students understand the world, solve problems, and believe in their own ability to succeed.About the RoleAs SEN Maths Teacher, you will deliver high-quality, inclusive maths education tailored to individual needs. Working with small groups and one-to-one learners, you will design engaging, accessible lessons that support academic progress, personal development, and wellbeing.You’ll work collaboratively with teaching colleagues, Learning Support Assistants, care staff, and families to ensure consistent, joined-up support. This role suits a teacher who enjoys adapting learning creatively, values strong relationships, and is driven to achieve positive outcomes for every student.Key ResponsibilitiesPlan, deliver, and adapt Maths lessons for individuals and small groups to meet varied needsDevelop schemes of work, learning modules, and Individual Education Plans (IEPs)Monitor, assess, and report on student progress, ensuring consistent communication with colleagues and familiesProvide guidance to Learning Support Assistants and support staff for effective lesson deliveryOrganise classrooms, resources, and displays to create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environmentSupport whole-school priorities, contribute to the School Development Plan, and implement policies consistentlyStay up to date with developments in Maths, SEN practice, and wider educational approachesExperience and Qualifications RequiredExperience teaching within an educational settingExperience planning, delivering, and teaching lessonsExperience supporting pupils with additional or special educational needs (highly desirable)This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact, helping students build confidence, develop key maths skills, and achieve their potential in a supportive and inclusive environment.About UsBaston House School is an independent day specialist school in Bromley, Kent, supporting children and young people aged 5–19 with Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC) and associated needs.
