Nekki is a game development studio, the creator of Shadow Fight Arena, Shadow Fight 3, Shadow Fight 2, 11×11, and Vector. The total number of registered users for our games exceeds 1 billion worldwide. We develop and release games for PC, consoles, and mobile platforms.

We are currently looking for a Software Development Engineer in Test for our upcoming single-player third-person action game, SPINE.

SPINE is a next-gen story-driven action game for PC and PS/Xbox, and a big step forward for the studio. The game is built on Unreal Engine 5 using the latest graphics technologies and is built around the aesthetics of cyberpunk and Gun Fu action movies: the key pillars of the project are cinematic camerawork, combat staging made together with experts from the movie industry, spectacular animations created with our own animation package (Cascadeur), and choreography with firearms.

Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, deploy, and maintain automation systems to enhance overall game quality across all supported platforms (PC, consoles), including:

  • Performance regression testing

  • Automated content validation

  • Automated gameplay testing

• Document developed tools and systems, write clear usage guidelines, and support collaboration and future development efforts.

• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for the development team as needed.

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of professional software development experience, including:

  • 1+ years in a Software Development Engineer in Test or equivalent role

  • 1+ years working with Unreal Engine, preferably in games

• Proven experience designing, implementing, deploying and maintaining automated tests and frameworks

• Experience working with CI/CD tools (we use TeamCity)

• Good knowledge of C++

• Solid understanding of common performance challenges in games

• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across disciplines and adapt to evolving project needs

• Fluent communication in Russian

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience with the following Unreal Engine tools and systems

  • Automation Test Framework

  • Gauntlet Automation Framework

  • Unreal Insights

  • UnrealGameSync

• Familiarity with scripting languages (Batch, Bash, Python)

• Experience working with console dev/test kits

• Experience working on a game project

• Knowledge of Perforce
