Job Identification We are looking for an Environmental Engineer to be a part of our Supply Chain team located in Astana, Kazakhstan What We Expect

• Take an inventory of all types and sources of wastes generated at the plant, and control the sources of harmful emissions into the environment.
• Explore the possibilities of reducing costs through proper organization of utilization of industrial wastes – separation, sorting, processing and destruction.
• Maintain relations with the city, regional officials of environmental protection, Consumer Protection Committee, city water utility.
• Report to statistical agencies and other environmental organizations.
• Provide data for business planning so that environmental aspects are included in the process.
• Help the Department/Company staff involved in audit of the Environmental Management System.
• Maintain and update documentation containing local environmental management requirements in a timely manner.
• Keep records confirming compliance with the local environmental and other requirements of the Company and Laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
• Maintain and timely update the documents containing the GEP (Good Environmental Practice) and other requirements of the Company and Environment Management Department.
• Contribute to the staff’s awareness of the importance of the environmental policy for the Company, so that employees adequately represent this Company policy to the society. Organize and conduct trainings for the production staff to fully understand the environmental impact of their work and increase their personal responsibility.
• Develop and implement material recycling programs in order to minimize the emissions.
• Maintain a continuous improvement program in order (water consumption, energy, waste generation, disposal of chemicals) to minimize the environmental impacts.
• Collect data on water consumption, energy, and solid waste generation. Interact with the crisis management team on environmental issues.

Qualifications:

• Technical degre: Environmental Engineering\ Industrial Engineering
• Preferable at least 5-6 years of experience.

Skills and expertise:

• Rules and regulations of occupational safety, health, industrial sanitation, fire protection and environmental protection.
• Laws and other statutory enactments of the Republic of Kazakhstan, methodical and normative documents related to the performance of laboratory standards, methods, instructions on terms of development and registration of technical documents upon performance results requirements to materials, semi-products, complementary parts, finished products methods of testing, technical calculations and arrangement of laboratory control at production sites structure and exploitation of laboratory equipment and computer devices domestic and foreign experience in technological testing and laboratory control of production basis of economy, production engineering, workplace management and business administration basis of labor laws
• English – upper-intermediate
• MS Office, SAP
